On January 13th 2023, at 12:00 we had a  Integration Coffee in the Main Library. Event was organised together with an Internationalization Office.

The meeting included coffee, cake and some casual conversations.

Karolina Derda from the Department of International Relations presented the chances that Erasmus+ can offer, including great opportunities to go on foreign exchange programmes for studying or training.

Małgorzata Omilian-Mucharska, the Editor in Chef of the University magazine Gazeta GUMed, told us about her job and the possibility of cooperating with the University magazine. Journalistic or drawing talents amongst can still reveal themselves!

But this day highlight was the music of the MUG Orchestra, our special guest. They performed their exceptional Christmas concert. By the way, if anyone would like to volunteer to join the orchestra, this is still possible.

As we are sure this wasn't the last event like that in the Main Library, we look forward to seeing you next time!

International Open Access Week is an initiative that seeks to prove that knowledge is a human right and to promote concept of Open Science and scientific collaboration across social, geographic and economic boundaries. It was initiated by SPARC and continues since 2008.

The theme of this year’s Open Access Week was “Open for Climate Justice”. Why was this particular issue chosen to be addressed? Climate changes are among the global society’s biggest challenges. No doubt about it. And everyone has to face them. However, not everyone is affected by them equally. As many as 67% of natural disasters occur in the countries of Global South – in Africa, Latin America, parts of Asia and Oceania. Most of these countries are considered as developing countries without insufficient access to free knowledge. Knowledge that is crucial to tackle climate crisis. That is why we want to promote free sources of information, accessible to all people. From Monday till Friday (24-28.10) we shared on our Facebook chosen articles from Polish Platform of Medical Research concerning climate changes. We encourage you to read them!
