On December 3, 2018, we had the opportunity to host the representatives of The Swedish Medical Association - SMA (oryginally called Sveriges läkarförbund - SLF) in our Library. They shared traditional Swedish delicacies which are eaten in Sweden on the occasion of Saint Lucia Day on December 13. The smell of upcoming holidays was being in the air...

All visiting the Library could have purchased:

  • LUSSEBULLE - traditional Swedish rolls with saffron and raisins,
  • GLÖGG - a Swedish drink served on cold days,
  • PEPPARKAKOR - Swedish gingerbreads.

Christmas specialties will be sold in the Library again on:
- December 13, from 10:30 am to 1 pm,
- December 17, from 5 pm to 7 pm.

You are welcome!

The MUG Main Library informs that on December 31, 2018, the SUBSCIPTION of the ClinicalKey database WAS EXPIRED. Due to the constantly growing cost of subsequent subscription renewals, the Library Council decided not to renew the ClinicalKey subcription for the next year. Consequently, on January 1, 2019, the access to that database was disconnected.

We would also like to inform that approximately 60% of the ClinicalKey journals will be STILL AVAILABLE on ScienceDirect under a national license.

In addition, FROM 1 JANUARY 2019, the Library will subscribe eleven of the most popular journals from ClinicalKey, which are not available on ScienceDirect:

  1. Fertility and Sterility

  2. Heart Rhythm

  3. Pancreatology

  4. Journal of Vascular Surgery

  5. Anesthesiology Clinics

  6. The Lancet Respiratory Medicine

  7. Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography

  8. American Journal of Kidney Diseases

  9. Gastroenterology

  10. The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery

  11. Journal of Urology

Moreover, two of the most commonly used coursebooks from ClinicalKey will be available on the EBSCOhost platform:

  • Textbook of Histology,

  • Robbins & Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease.

FROM 1 JANUARY 2019, the annual access to nearly 1 400 ebooks by Elsevier
will also be launched, including items until now available only as a part of ClinicalKey, e.g.:

  • Murray and Nadel's Textbook of Respiratory Medicine,

  • Mandell, Douglas and Bennett's Principles and Practice of Infectious Diseases.
