2017-11-15 Resources by CABI publisher - test access

CABI and MUG Main Library offers free trial access to Global Health database and CAB eBooks.
GLOBAL HEALTH is the only specialist bibliographic abstracting and indexing database dedicated to public health, completing the picture of international medical and health research by capturing key literature that is not covered by other databases.

Global Health has a growing number of full text articles (over 68.000) from journals, conferences, and reports. In total the base contains over 2.9 million scientific records from 1973 to the present, which h publicated in 50 languages in over 100 countries. All relevant non-English-language papers are translated in order to provide research information for a wide audience.

40% of material contained in Global Health is unique and is not available through any other database.

CAB EBOOKS provides a unique opportunity to access CABI's prestigious titles in an easy-to use format. Books are indexed and retrievable as chapters, ensuring that a search of available titles will render the most relevant results and save you valuable time.
CAB eBooks includes the following collections:

  • CAB eBooks Front File, 2014 - contains more than 120 books,
  • CAB eBooks Archive (2011-2013) - contains 156 titles,
  • CAB eBooks Archive (2008-2010) - contains 113 titles,

Ordering the books for borrowing

Borrowing the books will be possible through the Online Library Catalogue from September 29th, 2017, 6 p.m., when the patrons' accounts will be activated.

Library training online - the obligatory course

The Library training online is the obligatory course for all the first-year English Division students. The subject and the online test will be available from October 2nd, 2017 under the Services/didactic classes tab.
Students are obliged to complete the training and test till November 15th, 2017.

The course consists of two parts:

First part in open access contains the basic information on Library structure, regulations and rules of using Library resources and services, mostly the ways of searching for and ordering literature.

Part two contains the final test of 20 questions to complete online. First name, surname and the number of student’s card are required to log into the test. To pass the test one needs to provide more than 60% correct answers to the questions.

We would like to invite you to study the Library training online - a virtual meeting with the Library can make searching and ordering the literature significantly easier!
