Regulations of collecting personal data in Medical University of Gdańsk

Due to the entry into force of The Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) the Main Library informs that:

1. The administrator of your personal data is Medical University of Gdańsk based in Gdańsk, Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie 3A, 80-210 Gdańsk,

2. The Data Protection Inspector in Medical University of Gdańsk is Piotr Małecki (iod@gumed.edu.pl),

3. Your personal data will be processed using the Tricity Libraries IT System (Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music, Gdynia Maritime University, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Medical University of Gdansk, Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport, European Solidarity Centre) in order to enable the use of library resources on the basis of art. 6 par. 1 lit. A of the general regulation of personal data of 27 April 2016,

4. Your personal data will not be disclosed to other entities, except for entities authorized under the law, debt collection companies or companies supporting IT services,

5. Your personal data will be kept for a period required by law,

6. You have the access to the content of your data, the right to demand rectification them, the right to remove or limit of their use, the right to transfer them, the right to post an objection in relation to their processing and the right to withdraw legal consent at any time,

7. You have the right to make a complaint to the Office for Personal Data Protection, if it is justified that your personal data are processed by the administrator in breach of the general regulation of personal data of 27 April 2016,

8. Providing personal data is voluntary, however, the refusal to provide them may result in the refusal to provide the service.

2018-10-01 Resources by CABI publisher - test access

CABI and MUG Main Library offers free trial access to Global Health database and CAB eBooks.
 
GLOBAL HEALTH is the only specialist bibliographic abstracting and indexing database dedicated to public health, completing the picture of international medical and health research by capturing key literature that is not covered by other databases.

Global Health has a growing number of full text articles (over 76.900) from journals, conferences, and reports. In total the base contains over 2.9 million scientific records from 1973 to the present, which h publicated in 50 languages in over 100 countries. All relevant non-English-language papers are translated in order to provide research information for a wide audience.

40% of material contained in Global Health is unique and is not available through any other database.

Borrowing the books will be possible through the Online Library Catalogue from September 28th, 2018, 3 p.m., when the patrons' accounts will be activated.

Library training online - the obligatory course

The Library training online is the obligatory course for all the first-year English Division students. The subject and the online test will be available from October 1st, 2018 under the Services/didactic classes tab.
Students are obliged to complete the training and test till November 16th, 2018.

The course consists of two parts:

First part in open access contains the basic information on Library structure, regulations and rules of using Library resources and services, mostly the ways of searching for and ordering literature.

Part two contains the final test of 20 questions to complete online. First name, surname and the number of student’s card are required to log into the test. To pass the test one needs to provide more than 60% correct answers to the questions.

We would like to invite you to study the Library training online - a virtual meeting with the Library can make searching and ordering the literature significantly easier!
